### Is personalisation really free?
Yes. Every board, spoon and wine box includes free laser engraving. Add your names, date or message when you order and we engrave it at no extra cost. There are no hidden fees and no premium for longer messages.
### How long does delivery take?
Every item is made to order in our Hampshire workshop. We engrave and dispatch within 2 to 3 working days, then Royal Mail or Evri deliver. Allow 7 to 10 days in the UK to be safe, and add 3 to 5 days for international orders.
### What can I have engraved?
Names, dates, messages, recipes in someone's handwriting, or one of our designs like the periodic table board. If you can describe it, we can usually engrave it. Contact us before ordering if you want something unusual.
### What are your boards made from?
Our chopping and cheese boards are food-safe bamboo, chosen because it is hard-wearing, naturally antibacterial and sustainable. Bamboo regrows in a few years, unlike hardwoods that take decades.
### Can I use an engraved board for food preparation?
Yes. The engraving is burned into the bamboo by laser, with no inks or coatings. Chop on the plain side to keep the design sharp for longer, and hand wash rather than dishwash.
### How do I clean a bamboo chopping board? Is it dishwasher safe?
Hand wash with warm soapy water and dry it upright. Never put a bamboo board in the dishwasher; the heat and soaking make the wood swell and split. Wipe spills off the engraved side rather than scrubbing it.
### What oil should I use on a bamboo chopping board?
Food-safe mineral oil or a board butter. Rub a thin coat in once a month, leave it overnight, then wipe off the excess. Avoid olive and vegetable oil; both turn rancid inside the wood.
### Bamboo or wooden chopping board: which is better?
Bamboo is harder than most hardwoods, so it resists knife marks and stains, and it regrows in a few years. Hardwood boards are heavier and kinder to knife edges but cost more and need more care. We use bamboo because it takes laser engraving cleanly and stands up to daily use.
### What is the traditional 5th wedding anniversary gift?
Wood. An engraved board or wine box with the couple's names and wedding date fits the tradition and gets used every day. Order a week ahead and it arrives in time.
### Do you take bulk or corporate orders?
Yes. We engrave logos, staff names and client gifts, and we handle repeat orders for businesses. Contact us with quantities and your artwork and we will quote within a working day.
### Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes, we ship internationally. Allow an extra 3 to 5 days on top of UK delivery times. The customer is responsible for any customs or import fees on orders shipped outside the UK.
